Sugar, spice and everything nice
The Partners Club brought holiday festivities a little earlier to Tepper this year with a gingerbread house making activity to Friday b**rs at the school. Some houses demonstrated a deep understanding of structural engineering, while others were created with more contemporary construction in mind, including an “open concept” living space and modern garden hedges. While […]
The Importance of Giving Tuesday & Giving Back
Giving Tuesday is a huge day for many organizations including Tepper. While organizations make a big push for donations on this day, this was an important day for the Class of 2018 Gift Campaign. Our goal is to be the first class to ever reach 100% participation. When we launched our campaign last month, we […]

Student Spotlight – Max Lo Presti
This past week I sat down to learn more about my classmate, Max Lo Presti. The idea of the student spotlight is for our readers and prospective students to get to know our current students! Me: Hi Max, thanks for taking a few minutes today for the Tepper blog. Can you start by telling me […]
Poets & Quants Class of 2019 Feature
For anyone involved in the MBA cycle– from prospectives having the first tentative thoughts about whether an MBA is a fit to proud alumni– Poets & Quants is practically a household name. They provide a broad look at MBA programs that feels more personable and informal than many other resources, thanks to articles like “Meet Carnegie Mellon’s MBA Class of 2019.”

Thanksgiving thoughts
I remember calling home 8 years ago when I first came to the U.S. on Thanksgiving, and telling my parents that I thought it was one of the most meaningful American holidays. The tradition comes with the stereotypical 4pm dinners with members of the extended family, some poor turkey that has been in preparation for […]

Bring out your inner Picasso! Well, we tried…
The Partners Club and Part-Time GBA had a ball of a time at Painting With a Twist in East Liberty last night. We painted “Light Up Night Pittsburgh” with the beautiful downtown skyline set against a background of fireworks. While there were serious moments of concentration when we were trying to draw outlines of buildings, […]
Soak it up like a teabag!
First year MBA students are like teabags. Wait, wait, hear me out on this one. Just the way a teabag is suddenly plunged into a cup of hot water, first year MBA students plunge head first into the grad school life. If you’re a tea drinker, and you prefer a strong cup like me every […]
Tepper’s Rankings and What That Means to Me
Yesterday was a big day for the Tepper community! Businessweek’s 2017 MBA rankings came out with good news for us. As the Marketing Officer for the Full-Time program, I actually heard the news a couple of hours before it was released to everyone else so I could help push the news when Dean Dammon made […]

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
We are one week into Mini 2 and I wanted to offer some insights into what to expect this mini as a 1st year. We like to tell everyone that Mini 2 is the craziest mini yet because on campus recruiting (OCR) begins and it’s a whole different adjustment after surviving Mini 1. Personally, Mini […]
ROMBA Case Competition Experience
What do the words “business school” make you think of? If you’re in the throes of application, it may be “GMAT,” “letter of recommendation,” or “interviews.” Once you’ve started your MBA journey, though, you find a different set of words: “homework,” “bar night,” “treks,” “career fair,” and the famous “case competition.” Four members of Out&Allied combined career fair and case competition by competing in the Reaching Out MBA (ROMBA) Liberty Mutual case competition in early October.
