Diversity Weekend (+Pittsburghaversary)

Last weekend was the Diversity Weekend at Tepper. My favorite event! Exactly a year earlier, I was an attendee still not sure whether an MBA was right for me. A Tepper student guided me through school during the Friday social event; Dean Dammon presented during the dinner on Saturday; and Leanne Meyer and Jarred Lazear provided […]

Coming Out Stories, a Celebration of LGBT Journeys at Tepper

When you think of October, perhaps you think about the arrival of fall, the superfluity of pumpkin flavored foods, or the thrill of Halloween. There’s more to October than that, though; it also happens to be LGBT History Month, and, on October 11, National Coming Out day. These more serious topics are celebrated by Tepper MBAs in a yearly event called Coming Out Stories.

Coming out as an LGBT MBA

First and second-year Tepper students recently attended the Reaching Out MBA (ROMBA) conference in Minneapolis. One student reflects on the power of LGBT spaces in MBA programs. On October 11, 2018, the LGBT community will mark the 30th anniversary of National Coming Out Day. While there have been some significant improvements in how LGBT people […]

Analytics only get you so far

I’m going to say something a little controversial: Tepper’s analytics didn’t come in handy this summer. I benefited most from my one-on-one coaching with Accelerate, network of peers, and Managing People & Teams course.

What happens when the Partners Club, the Wine Club and the Data Analytics Club walk into a bar (or a co-working space in this situation)? A Winter Olympics themed Red & White (and Blue) Party of course! With food and wine from around the world, super cool (pun intended) costumes, and real medals for all, […]

Can you have it all?

The decision to pursue your MBA probably came after weighing a plethora of difficult choices. You might be moving to a new city or country, you must have calculated the opportunity cost of lost wages when resigning from your job, and you may have said teary good byes to friends and family back home. 5 Very Serious Rules to Surviving Internship Recruitment

The fantastic thing about the New Year is that it brings with it a clean slate – a reboot button. You could be gorging on meat pies and apple crumbles on Dec 31st guilt free because you know you’ll be hitting the gym come Jan 1st. Or you could be enjoying that last splurge at […]

Who Runs the (Tepper) World? Girls!

We recently held elections for next year’s GBA. One year after electing 2 men for the positions of President and Vice President, we made a complete 180 and elected 2 women to lead the GBA next year. This is pretty exciting because not only do we have two very qualified candidates leading but also this […]
