Tartan Student Fund

November 18, 2017/0 Comments/in Carnegie Mellon, Student Clubs, Uncategorized, Undergraduate /by Eric Jiang | Undergraduate Business 2021

As a new member of the Tartan Student Fund, I was excited to engage in something novel and different from clubs of my high school. Tartan Student Fund was just that. The club consists of groups of team members working together to pitch various stocks of their choice to the entirety of the fund, with […]

High school seniors: it’s okay not to know what you want to do.

November 11, 2017/0 Comments/in Business, Carnegie Mellon, Undergraduate /by Madeline Kim | Professional Writing and Undergraduate Business 2021

‘Tis the season for Common Application. High school seniors everywhere are frantically applying to colleges and are all faced with one grappling question: “What do you want to do with your life?” Growing up, I was so sure I wanted to become a medical doctor, just like all of my uncles. I would go through […]

Managing mental health as a college student

November 3, 2017/1 Comment/in Campus Life, Carnegie Mellon /by Madeline Kim | Professional Writing and Undergraduate Business 2021

Mental health is a daunting topic yet something I am passionate about. In the spring semester, CMU put up big posters with prompts such as “CMU Stress Culture Doesn’t Exist. Thoughts?” where students could put their thoughts. Additionally, former president Subra Suresh had talked about expanding Counseling and Psychological Services, CaPS, so that it is […]

A perspective on diversity weekend 2016, from class of 2019 MBA candidate Ben Strickhouser:   I was lucky enough to be invited to attend Diversity Weekend because of my military service in the U.S. Navy. Diversity Weekend was my first visit to Tepper. At this point in my MBA search I had already visited all […]

Carnegie Mellon academics keep the student body very busy but when we have free time, many of us like to watch or participate in activities or organizations on campus. Since there are so many things happening on CMU’s campus, it is easy to miss an activity that you would be interested in. Here are a […]

Exercising at Carnegie Mellon

October 28, 2017/0 Comments/in Campus Life, Carnegie Mellon /by Kamyar Ghiam | Undergrad BA 2021

I started to feel that college was limiting my capability to exercise. With the load of work and the constant press for time, it seemed like a luxury to exercise and still have enough energy to go through the day.

Tips for Stressful Weeks!

October 26, 2017/0 Comments/in Campus Life, Carnegie Mellon, Day in the Life, In the Classroom, Tepper Community, Undergraduate /by Seth Henry | Undergrad Econ 2019

Multiple exams, lack of sleep, and overwhelming amounts of stress pretty much summarize midterm week. Midterm week is an amazing part of the semester where you must finish two papers, study for multiple exams, and give a presentation within a few days’ time. What a blast! Excuse my sarcasm but midterm week really is demanding. […]

Penguins Game

What better way is there to unwind from a busy week than to attend a Penguins game with Tepper students? On Saturday, October 7th, around 10 undergraduate Tepper students and 2 faculty members attended the Penguins ice hockey game against the Nashville Predators in the PPG arena. This was an especially exciting game as the […]
