A Happy Tepperoni
Hey there, Tepperonis!
I hope you’re all enjoying the beautiful summer. My name is Priyasha, and I am a part-time MBA student at Tepper, class of 2025. My journey of 29 years from India to Pittsburgh and eventually to Tepper has been quite the adventure and I can’t wait to share them all with you.
I was born and raised in Ranchi, a city known as the City of Waterfalls in India. Thanks to the stunning nature and waterfalls in and around the area, from a young age I developed a love for the outdoors, including hiking, kayaking, and caring for plants (I have about 20 plants at home!).
After earning my bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Manipal Institute of Technology in India, I moved to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Bavaria, Germany to work for Electrolux in 2015. This experience ignited a passion for travel, and so far, I’ve visited 3 continents, 10 countries and over 50 cities around the world.
In 2016, I moved to the United States to pursue my graduate degree in Computer Science at Penn State, and in 2017, I moved to Pittsburgh for an internship with Ansys and I have been with them ever since. As a software engineer in DevOps for the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the most innovative teams. However, I found myself craving for more than just technical expertise in my career. I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of business principles, leadership skills, and the ability to think strategically. Therefore, I decided to pursue an MBA.
The part-time MBA program allows me to continue working full-time while pursuing my academic goals. Plus, I was able to apply my newfound knowledge and skills to my current role and build a network of like-minded professionals who shared my interests and career aspirations. (P.S. my class is a group of most fun and smart people, ever!)
Aside from my academic pursuits, my extracurricular activities allow me to apply my skills in real-world settings. Recently, I worked as a lead consultant for a local business to help them drive growth using the knowledge and skills I’ve gained through my MBA program. I’m proud to say that my client was even featured in WPXI’s Our Region’s Business program under my leadership.
Additionally, I’m a board member of Tepper Women in Business (TWIB), where I work to promote gender diversity and inclusion in the workplace while providing networking and professional development opportunities for women and allies for gender equality in business.
Pursuing a part-time MBA and getting involved in extracurricular activities has been a transformative experience for me. It’s given me a new perspective on my career and personal goals and has also empowered me to make a positive impact on my community. I’m excited to embark on mini 5 of year 1 and explore the plethora of new experiences that this program has to offer.
Stay tuned for more of my Tepper adventures!
