The CMU Spirit Is Still There
As we wrap up the semester, I want to take a moment to reflect on the past few months. I want to recognize the massive amounts of resilience our students have shown in pursuing our education and the dedication from the faculty and staff in making the best out of a very uncertain time.
The CMU spirit is still there.

Social Media Director at TurnUp Activism
Madeline is an Alabama native who, after four years in Pittsburgh, is caught between the worlds of “y’all” and “yinz”.
She dedicated her first three years of college to completing a BS in Business Administration in the Tepper School of Business along with a minor in Professional Writing in Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences. However, she switched the two during her senior year. She is taking a gap semester during fall 2020 and working as a Social Media Director for the new social media app, TurnUp Activism.
Additionally, she is continuing her commitment to The Tartan, Carnegie Mellon’s student-run newspaper, where she is both an editor and a member of the executive committee. Some of her passions outside of journalism lie in mental health advocacy and fighting for inclusivity. Outside of the classroom, she likes to create Webtoons, film videos, write, and make aesthetically pleasing bowls of oatmeal.
