Admissions Blog: Writing Your Essays
The holidays are already upon us! While MBAs travel away from campus for holiday celebrations, the MBA Admissions blog has some advice from first-year MBA students on how to put together your MBA application. This time, they cover the application essays. Tepper requires one essay about how you’ll contribute to the community, and allows for an optional essay to explain anything you think is missing from your application.
For the required essay, Ben O’Bright reminds you to have someone read over your essay to get honest feedback and Nitzan Sherman recommends focusing on just one or two items so that you can provide more detail. As for the optional essay, Cynthia Mills stresses the opportunity to explain an irregularity in your application, such as when a personal stressor affected her academic performance during one year in her undergraduate studies.
ICYMI, check out the last post here, about your how to talk about your goals and tell your personal narrative.
