ELebration 2019
About two weeks ago, 80 first-years and 11 upperclass mentors gathered once again over food, fun and festivities. The occasion? To celebrate the 11 different projects and lessons learned that happened over the past six weeks. With focus areas ranging from income inequality to sustainability, the projects showcased both direct and indirect service, on and off campus. For me, it was an especially significant and bittersweet time as this was my fourth (and last) year going through the program. If you want to read more about my experience here’s the post I made last year about Emerging Leaders. And I’ve seen myself grow and change as a person drastically each time – learning about delegation, motivation, effective communication as well as humility, uncertainty and controversy with civility. While I will certainly miss the program after I graduate, the people, the experiences, and the skills that I got out of it will stay with me forever.
Below feel free to check out a (new) trailer video for Emerging Leaders!
